Context and motivation

Currently, we’re in the middle of a crisis. Remote work is becoming popular, not in a natural way, but in a more forced way — companies need to adapt to most countries’ isolation laws and working from home is a normality for more and more employees. As a consequence, there is an increasingly huge number of people that need to adapt to this new way of working. From meetings that are moved from offline to online, to collaboration systems and increased usage of instant messaging apps, employees are facing a lot of challenges. I genuinely believe that remote work is the future of work. While this is great (the remote work experiment we are going through right now), it can also be overwhelming for beginners — there is a big shift in the paradigm of working — for decades people used to work from offices, chat near the watercooler, shake hands in the morning and smiling to their colleagues. This article is meant to help HR professionals help their companies and employees solve a part of the remote work problem — to present a curated list of resources for people who are either new to remote work, in charge of setting up new processes for their companies for remote teams or want to stay up to date with the remote work field. This article doesn’t try to list every single resource available but instead links to resources and tools that are guaranteed to be high-quality. This list is sourced from remote working communities, Hacker News, Quora, Indie Hackers etc.
